Ground suspension lamp, an unconventional solution.

Probably the Castiglioni brothers' Parentesi is the most famous example. Still in production since 1972, on the steel cable fixed directly to the ceiling by a tessellated rosette and kept in tension by a counterweight, the metal bracket slides, a tubular with a double curve which by friction allows the lamp holder to be kept suspended. Less famous examples that were inspired by this concept are: "Quinta" design Silvio Coppola for Artemide from the mid-seventies, Abolla design CP & PR also for Artemide from 1982 and "Abaco" design Barbieri and Marianelli for Tronconi 1983.
La Quinta uses a stretched cotton curtain as a support for the lamp holder inside the white painted metal structure. In my opinion it is the most original solution, Abolla and Abaco are both supported by steel cables in tension thanks to a counterweight, each one with a characteristic line, they are conceptually very similar. The ceiling support rotates in both and the tensioned cables allow the positioning of the light point.
