Evolution of light sources.

Technological development has always introduced innovations and new possibilities, stimulating the imagination and evolving previous paradigms in design and production.
The emergence and widespread use of LEDs in lighting has been emblematic: their technical characteristics and modularity have led to a progressive fusion between the light source and the design of the lamp itself. The Mesh model by Luceplan, designed by Fransisco Gomez Paz, is a significant example. Essentially inspired by a network, the nodes are the light points that can be adjusted in multiple ways (intensity, color temperature, for all or some groups).
With the introduction of new light sources, designers and manufacturers have always found themselves rethinking their products. The Cornalux B22 has been particularly significant in Italian design, starting with the Agnoli 357 model for Oluce, and the Spider series by Joe Colombo. Sarfatti also addressed the theme in his own way with the 1956 model 566, featuring a very distinctive light source with a bayonet fitting, and silvered on one side to direct the light beam.
