Adriano Olivetti, who died prematurely at the age of 60, was an enlightened entrepreneur who combined quality production with innovation, design, and research, creating a unique environment where worker welfare was truly considered an asset. The brand quickly became global, but with Adriano's passing, the company suffered a blow and was forced to sell its electronics division to General Electric.
