Founded by Giulio Castelli, a chemical engineer who graduated from the Polytechnic, thanks to his knowledge of polypropylene he developed and introduced plastic into Italian homes. Kartell's objects have revalued a material that was perceived as poor. Combining design with innovation, thanks to Milanese designers such as Zanuso, Gardella, Anna Ferrieri (his wife), he managed to exalt this material.
